Carlos Aguilar. The "bronze magician" is one who communicates and transmits through creations in bronze. "It is interesting and enjoyable to create the illusion of something floating in air to create the impression of parts of a work where none exist, provoking the imagination to interpret each piece of sculpture". This is Carlos Aguilar… a magician, a Quijote, perhaps a chess player, a jazz musician… His passion for jazz leads us to his magic, the musical essence that his creations capture – it is not surprising that the International Jazz Festival in Bern, Switzerland awarded him its prize for his work.
Self-taught, born in Mexico City, Carlos initiates his career at 23, and since then has created his own artistic language, consolidating, over time, the character of his work. Perhaps the principal element of his sculpture is synthesis, the elimination of the superficial to reveal the essence to be captured by the viewer, recreating with the author the work itself.
