Fernando Andriacci. This Oaxaca artist creates his own fantasy world utilizing legendary, mystical characters, toy horses with wheels, elephants on bicycles, crazy goats, crocodiles, crabs and crickets – all carried to the canvas to be transformed, worked, possessed and shared. Unlike painters of the past who were accustomed to creating inaccessible distances between the artist and viewer, Andriacci exhibits and shows his paintings, sharing his work so that others feel the magic that he wants to transmit.
Andriacci is born in Cuicatlán, Oaxaca in 1972. He studies painting, sculpture and printing as well as courses in philosophy and art history in the Casa de la Cultura Oaxaqueña. Later, he joins the Rufino Tamayo Art Workshop where he continues his studies in painting, drawing, sculpture, printing, lithograph, mixed media, preparation and investigation of materials and art history.
Since 1983 he has participated in group exhibitions in Oaxaca, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Palo Alto, California, Germany and Japan.
